  • Christopher Mote, DO, DC, IFMCP

Evolution of Medicine is thrilled to announce our 71st Functional Forum. We are returning to an important topic, one we have discussed in-depth on recent Forums: Stress and the Brain.

In our first episode, we went deep into Understanding Biological Rhythms, learning from some of the leaders in circadian rhythms and systems biology. In the second episode, we went examined the interconnected systems can lead to or mitigate stress.

Now, in our final episode on stress and the brain, we will look at the four key stressors that affect the brain and showcase some of the ways this can be delivered in practice.

First, we’ll hear from Dr. David Rakel, a physician, author and educator with a focus on community medicine, on the mental and emotional components of stress, which are probably the most familiar to us. Then, we will hear from three other physicians dealing with major stressors every day in clinical practice. Dr. Christopher Mote, a private practice physician who focuses on treating chronic stress, will take us into pathogens and infectious stress. Dr. Allan Sosin, founder and medical director of the Institute for Progressive Medicine, will share his perspective on blood sugar regulation as a stressor from his decades of experience. Dr. Shilpa P. Saxena, physician, educator and pioneer of group visits, will weigh in on sleep, circadian rhythm and stress.

We hope this Forum can bring communities of practitioners together to discuss the best ways to work together to get to the root causes of these issues and support patients in full recovery.
